This past year we took an unbelievable trip to California   The Mecca of fresh fruits and vegetables.  Needless to say we were in ORGANIC heaven or as Lauri calls it the “Mini O’s”.  From our Bungalow, in the hills of Los Feliz to the numerous Farmers Markets, and last but not least the unbelievable restaurants, and endless wine bars.  Below we are just trying to show you a snippet of the trip Enjoy!!

Bonterra Blu Restaurant

This Blog is an adventure between friends, aka tomato friends.  We love cooking, eating, and drinking good wine.  While searching for Lobster base to make a  seafood stew we found ourselves in every Asian Market in our home town Lubbock, Texas.  After much laughter with an educational experience to boot, this is how our Field Trips began, in search of real food from real people.

We have had  many interesting Field Trips since that first day that we will share along the way.  This past weekend we traveled to Abilene, Texas to the 8th Annual  Buffalo Gap Wine and Food Summit. On Friday night we ventured with husbands and friends to Clyde, Texas, to enjoy West Texas Nouvell  Cuisine, at its finest  at  Bonterra Blu Resturant.

Bonterra Blu is Texas cooking at its best.  The succulent slow Braised Pork Shank with raspberry Chipotle sauce , to the wonderful presentation of  New Zealand Lamb Chops with fennel and sweet chili. The atmosphere is cozy and Texas friendly.  Don’t forget dessert, the melt in your mouth Fried Bread Pudding (of coarse only in Texas) its devine. The menu changes seasonally and best of all they support local artist, artisans and local farmers.  We don’t think you will be disappointed.
